How to film a football match with a phone
Football stats are coming to Reelstat. This guide works today with any camera app, and your footage will be ready when we are.
Where to put the phone.
At the halfway line, on the side of the pitch.
How high.
As high as you safely can.
Framing.
Landscape. The whole pitch if possible; for small-sided games, the whole area.
Settings.
Do Not Disturb on. Screen brightness down to save battery. Plug in a power bank. Keep about 5 GB free. Close other apps.
During the game.
Do not move the tripod and do not zoom. If someone stands in front, ask them kindly to move.
Common mistakes.
- Filming in portrait. The playing area does not fit.
- Following the ball by hand. Keep the phone still on a tripod.
- Zooming. Keep the whole pitch in the picture.
- Filming into the low sun. Players become silhouettes.
After the game.
Stop recording and keep the video. Your footage will be ready when we are.
