How to film a volleyball game with a phone
Volleyball stats are coming to Reelstat. This guide works today with any camera app, and your footage will be ready when we are.
Where to put the phone.
Behind one end line, centred.
How high.
About 3 metres up.
Framing.
Landscape. The whole court, both sides of the net, with the tops of the antennas visible.
Settings.
Do Not Disturb on. Screen brightness down to save battery. Plug in a power bank. Keep about 5 GB free. Close other apps.
During the game.
Do not move the tripod and do not zoom. If someone stands in front, ask them kindly to move.
Common mistakes.
- Filming in portrait. The playing area does not fit.
- Filming from the side. The far side gets hidden by the net.
- Too low behind the server. The server hides the court.
After the game.
Stop recording and keep the video. Your footage will be ready when we are.
